Miami Marlins Nation is a fishing enthusiasts group that was founded in 2004 by a group of regular anglers and friends in Miami. The group has grown to include casting instructors, conservationists, and journalists/bloggers.
Our goal is provide tips and guides on fishing techniques, hidden gem locations, and reviewing the best chartered fishing locations that fellow Miami anglers can book to have a great time. Our membership is open to all enthusiasts, no matter your age, gender, or level of experience.
List of Local Fishing Shops
There are dozens of stores in Miami for fishing supplies, but here's a quick list of our favourites:
Arky's Live Bait & Tackle — 746 NE 79th St, Miami, FL 33138 It's a small store that specializes in bait and tackle, but they have good prices and are great for giving advice to beginners.
Hopkins Carter Marine Supply & Fishing Tackle — 3300 NW 21st St, Miami, FL 33142 A good retail store for marine and fishing supplies, including hardware, clothing, gear, and tackle. It might be a full sporting store, but they have great staff to help pick out the gear and supplies you need.
Capt. Harry's Fishing Supply — 8501 NW 7th Ave, Miami, FL 33150 A more expensive store, but they have very high quality supplies especially for deep sea fishing. For people flying into Miami to go on chartered fishing trips, it's a good location to pick up the supplies you need.
Crook & Crook — 2795 SW 27th Ave, Miami, FL 33133 A good general fishing supply store that can serve as a one-stop-shop for your fishing supplies, but it is known for having good quality live bait, as well as rig and tackle.
List of Chartered Fishing Companies
For people who live in Miami, or those who are visiting for business or pleasure and want to go on a great chartered fishing trip, we've assembled our preferred list of companies to choose:Ultimate Fishing Charters — 500 Brickell Ave #3100, Miami, FL 33131
They are one of the highest quality chartered fishing companies you'll find, with locations and trips around the world. Their Miami location has great sailfishing opportunities, but they offer three types of chartered fishing trips: offshore fishing that takes you to the gulf stream to catch pelagic fish, inshore sport fishing that uses light tackle to fish between the mainland shore and the bays and islands of Miami, and flats fishing further south of Miami itself.
